Brandon city council says Rod Fable is now now not town manager. In a disclose released Friday afternoon, town stated “Mr. Fable has elected to retire from the City of Brandon.”

Brandon city manager Rod Fable has left his job, seven months after the death of a girl who overdosed at his home.

In a disclose released Friday afternoon, Brandon city council stated “Mr. Fable has elected to retire from the City of Brandon.” 

“Having met the eligibility requirements to retire from town, the fade used to be mutually agreed to be within the most productive interest of all parties,” stated the disclose.

Fable has been working for town since 1987, and used to be promoted to city manager in November 2017.

He used to be positioned on paid administrative fade away in October 2019 following a CBC investigation into the death of Christine Mitchell, a 30-yr-old girl who overdosed on red heroin at his home in July 2019. She later died at the Brandon Regional Successfully being Centre.

Manitoba’s licensed legit general called within the RCMP to evaluate Mitchell’s death and the following Brandon Police Provider’s investigation.
