Jane Fonda used to be arrested at the U.S. Capitol on Friday whereas peacefully protesting climate trade.
The actor and activist used to be handcuffed on the east facet steps and escorted correct into a police vehicle. Video of the arrest circulated online.
Fonda used to be one of 16 other folk arrested for unlawfully protesting and used to be charged with “crowding, obstructing or incommoding.” She used to be released hours later.
On Thursday, the actress vowed to affix Friday protests at the Capitol “inspired and emboldened by the very best motion our formative years possess created.”

Ira Arlook, of the community Fireplace Drill Fridays, confirmed that Fonda used to be arrested at the inaugural demonstration Friday.
Earlier than her arrest, Fonda in a speech called climate trade “a collective crisis that demands collective action now.”
